Exactly, and good on them. If only the protests were larger...

I agree. It seems like if anyone has an opinion on this, it's to support Israel at all costs.

There are a growing number of Jews becoming disenchanted with their Govt, as they should, since occupation and renewed violence will not bring peace, occupy another’s land and humiliate them, and you ignite the extremists and cancel out any opportunity to negotiate a peace settlement

best wishes

There were several protests in Israel as well. During the war they were quite small. I attended a few.
This Saturday, a huge demonstration is planned in Tel Aviv. The protesters will call for a national inquiry regarding the war. It should be interesting to follow.

HAs anybody heard of Arab protests against Hizbullah?

Hello everyone, I replied earlier but blogger 'ate' my comment. The same happened on some other people's comment so I'll try again!
Robster, Heathlander and Lindsay, amen to all of that. Yohay, I read about a big protest recently in Haaretz demanding the release of the imprisoned soldiers. I feel bad that the soldiers were used as an excuse to attack Hezbollah (I wrote about it in another post a while ago, I'll have to dig it up and I'll try to do that tomorrow (if I remember, do remind me!), and I think with total disregard for the soldiers' safety. In essence, you don't know where they are and you could be killing them yourselves if you just blanketly attack the whole of Lebanon , well, the south part that is. Not smart and obviously, not a strategy that was intended to get the soldiers returned. I would like your opinion on the Ray McGovern interviews that Dahr Jamail had recently. It does not put Israel's politics (which I myself seperate from the ordinary citizens) in the best of lights, but I know of Israelis who are most critical of their own gov'ts action. One was a holocaust survivor cum human rights lawyer. I'll have to find that name for you as well (it's in a book probably still in one of my boxes, but I will try to get you that name). I believe that Israel's actions (i.e.Gov't) continue to be this agressive, see my post on Gaza which includes article from Haaretz), that in essence you invite continued violence and hatred upon hatred. In my opinion/view, only Israelis themselves can do something to turn that around..what do you think of all of it? I am curious to know,

Hi,

I commented on both posts. I want to write something about what's going on with the Palestinians (from my point of view of course). I hope that I'll get to it, and to write it also in Hebrew.
Anyway, I'm going to the big demonstration on Saturday at about 12:30 (US Central time) which is 20:30 here. The demonstrators will call for a national inquiry committee to investigate the war, including all the military and civilian aspects.
I hope to post about it (+pictures) a day or two later.

Yohay, when it is up, I will link to you so people can read about it first hand. Do you know if Jonathan (pardon my brain glitch, are you both in Tel Aviv or are you in Haifa?)is going? I don't know if you guys know each other, I was 'sorta' assuming since I saw you post on his site which led me to your blog. Good luck, I hope it will be worthwhile. I read that Hezbollah wants to exchange the captured soldiers for Sami what's his name but of all the people to ask for, I do not think this is a reasonable one.
