Where are the ordinary army personnel in all of this?

Seeing that I've gotten a few military visitors (welcome!), with all the fatigue of troops being extended in Afghanistan and Iraq being stretched (hopefully pull out sooner than later and then staying home for what, at least two weeks???, sarcasm boys and gals)..

so how does the military feel about all this blustering about by the President and going into other territories for military exercises that really have no business being held? You can stay anonymous but I'd love some feedback guys..and gals..

Funny but when I was reading your E I was going to say you must write about the Army. Anyway I discuss this daily with my sons and they are just doing their job and don't think about it and leave that to me!
In fact I told you my youngest is on his way into the Army a a combat engineer. Their will always be people that have no other options and Patriotism motivates others along with love of job like my EOD lifer son!
Oh yeah I just linked to you!You will see me here all the time now.

Vigilante, welcome and please do.. it's nice to have people come and discuss things and yes, that includes not agreeing as well!!

Jim, I remember reading either in one of your comments or posts that you have four sons, I did not realize one was on his way into the army. Thanks for linking.. since you mentioned that, writing about the army must attract army people to check this out, I figured I would put Ilona Meagher's PTSD Combat, winning the war within blog in my link. She's author of the book of the same name and an incredible woman. The ultimate resource I think for veterans with or without combat related ptsd.

Believe it or not naj made me aware the other day! To her it was towards the Persian Gulf but we are already there. very confusing!

The aircraft carriers USS Theodore Roosevelt and the USS Ronald Reagan, along with the USS Iwo Jima, an Amphibious Assault Ship are sailing toward the Persian Gulf to reinforce the US strike forces in the region, along with a British Royal Navy carrier battle group and a French nuclear hunter-killer submarine. 8/13/08
My reaction was the same as yours. Whether they are around for emergency aid or not, they are around.
Be really concerned if you hear Russia doing the same thing!

I remember reading that in her comment. My husband once showed me a link/pic where you, in almost real time, could see where the different aircraft carriers were all over the world..I should ask him to email that to me as he's out of town until tomorrow morning...

and the masses will swallow this hook line and sinker, whatever follows..sigh.. well, let's hope it's just posturing for now..

thx for the follow up, yes yes son..you can get back on (it's like ping pong here [g])
