Losing a Loved One..

One of our friends just lost his best friend this morning. This is for all who are hurting because of losing someone, or who are just hurting. This is just the song..And as always, for our returning veterans who are carrying all that hurt still inside..I'm thinking of you too..

Murray Head-Say It Ain't So Joe- Night of the Proms

Say it ain't so Jo, please, say it ain't so
That's not what I wanna hear Jo
And I got a right to know
Say it ain't so Jo, please, say it ain't so
I'm sure they're telling us lies Jo
Please tell us it ain't so

They told us that our hero has played his trump card
He doesn't know how to go on
We're clinging to his charm and determined smile
The good old days have gone

The image and the empire may be falling apart
The money has gotten scarce
One man's word held the country together
But the truth is getting fierce

Say it ain't so Jo, please, say it ain't so
We pinned our hopes on you Jo
And they're ruining our show

Ooh baby don't you think
We're gonna get burned
Ooh baby don't you think
We're gonna get burned
We're gonna get turned
We're gonna get burned
Yes we're gonna get turned
We're gonna get burned
We're gonna get turned
Yes, we're gonna get burned
We're gonna get burned
We're gonna get burned
Yes we're gonna get turned
We're gonna get burned

Say it ain't so Jo, please, say it ain't so
That's not what I wanna hear Jo
And I got a right to know
Say it ain't so Jo, please, say it ain't so
I'm sure they're telling us lies Jo
Please tell us it ain't so (x2)

It's a great song to get bottled up emotions off your chest that's for sure. I know what you mean..I can remember listening to this song on the radio..it does evoke those feelings doesn't it?

hey guys, I do think we're kinda sorta in the same age ballpark (give or take [g]) so I think you guys probably knew Murray Head (no??)..he's a great Brit singer and I wished that one song I had as a 'single' was online as well, I'd post it too.
In the close to mid 90s, I had a friend who got killed in a car accident in Bahrain when I lived in Saudi Arabia with husband number 1 and it felt so strange. To see him the weekend before..that was unreal.. He was such a 'big' person too, present when he entered a room. I'm sure we all have stories like that,

today, he'll be buried but James will go in support of our friends and I'll take care of the kids. It's a guy thing today..
