Are you bored? Check out GOOGLE EARTH.

Sometimes the Darfur Button on the right does not show up. But I invite you to check out Google Earth's Crisis in Darfur. Or CBS Seismic Monitor. Or NASA Blue Marble. It has much more though. For a few moments to play, click HERE!

Hi Ingrid,

Dad and I have been reading your new blog and we are really enjoying the articles. A friend of mine recently told me she is moving into a yurt. I wasn’t exactly sure what a “yurt” was and have been meaning to find out more about them. I read with great interest your post on yurt building and looked at the links which led me via the yurt foundation website to a yurt construction slide show. I want to build one now!!! I enjoy thinking about life design and the new and creative ways humans are approaching it. The U-tube film is great and I’ve sent a link to your site to my permaculture friend who owns a farm in NSW where they are using contour farming principles to produce native seed.

Best wishes

Rachael & Dad (Lindsay)

Rachel! Woman with the great voice! (yes yes, listened to a few of your songs..you ought to come to the South by Southwest festival here in Austin. 'We' literally get bands/musicians from all over the world, including Australia. You'd fit right in with your sound.
As to the permie blog. Thanks! When I looked for pictures of a yurt , I myself thought, wow, wouldn't it be nice to live in one of those?? I am trying to prepare a post on nuclear energy which is considered a controversial topic, especially since the originator of the Gaia theory, James Lovelock is a firm believer of it. Anyhow, I have been very busy with the kids' school etc. as they only have 5 weeks left and too many last month activities on the way.. I hope to post more often. Thanks so much for dropping a note Rachel, btw..how's the gardening going? I remember checking out your garden pics and post a long while back..
cheers!
Ingrid
