Just to add to the heartache

On my blogger rounds before turning off the computer, I went to one of my favourites, my friend Mash of Docstrangelove. His well written post was adding to the heartache I've been feeling, but nevertheless, one can't put one's head in the sand, just because the thought might be painful to bear. You need to know..
excerpt;

I think the Bush Administration is right on schedule for an end-of-year/election time attack on Iran.

The usual suspects are out in full force. Bill Kristol is foaming at the mouth with talk of war with Iran. All fingers are pointing at Iran as the real problem. The White House has given Israel time to "defang" Hezbollah and is oddly silent as the humanitarian crisis in Lebanon grows. Mr. Bush’s chief Anti-Diplomat at the United Nations brushed aside Kofi Annan’s call for a cease-fire with the standard mantra:

The U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, John R. Bolton, reacted skeptically to the proposals, saying the United States wants a cessation of hostilities to be part of a "comprehensive change in the region" and does not see how a cease-fire agreement can be reached "with a group of terrorists."

well, one happy note..happy 100th post to me! Just wished it could have been a 'happier' one..

Good post and yes, the drums of insanity are beating again. Maybe the American public will hit the streets this time and maybe they'll throw some congressional bums out in November.

What's needed is the US, Europe, Russia and others to put 'peace pressue' on the situation - drive people to the table with carrots ($$$) and sticks (sanctions with teeth).

Maybe Happy 100th isn't the right greeting for this post. Looking through your site, the happiness comes not from the post topics, but from us knowing you're there. Keep it up!

Congrats on the 100th post!

There's been speculation for awhile that the Bush administration was ramping up for a war with Iraq. Most of it centered on it happening during the first week in July.

Just another thing to make you go "Hmmm..."

Happy 100th and many more. Shall we wish for a time when all our posts can be happy ones?

thanks for the kind words guys. Speaking of insanity..now I (sort of) know someone in Israel, I worry about him too..he's in Tel Aviv but I know he has a friend in Haifa and that just got hit by a rocket. Intellect or insanity, that's his site, hence my association.
I'm sure you guys have a 'few more' than a 100 under your belt..it's kinda nice that I have stuck with this in spite all the distractions in life..it's been a great outlet for me that's for sure..

I think, sadly, Mash has got this right. The drum beats coming from Kristol and others is all pointing towards using the situation in Israel to provoke Syria and Iran.

The fact that they are allowing this do go on the way they have, makes me suspect that the US is actually hoping Iran and Syria might intervene.

I think that's also why Israel have attacked the roads. It's hoping to slow down any troops entering from other country's.

Kel, I believe so too. It's scary and depressing. You'd think (hope) that Iran and Syria know that and NOT give in to that. Is it any wonder that they are the enemies of the US? It keeps reminding me that, people keep looking to the 'reactions' and not the true inciting events... no wonder there will always be 'terrorists'... it 's disgusting
