Saturday Hodgepodge of Songs

I'm in funky restless mood so here is a hodgepodge of songs..anthems to rock to mellow stuff..take your pick at whatever's your pleasure..

The Dutch National Anthem - Het Wilhelmus(read the history). It's very 'anthem-y' but the song has english subtitles AND some great Dutch images..



And sorry..but this has GOT to be my favourite anthem of all time (ok, it's not the official one)..I like this version and dedicate this to our venerable aussie blogger buddy and blogosphere resident poet Lindsay Lobe;
Waltzing Matilda , this version by Rod Stewart;



Van Halen from Balance, the Seventh Seal. Boy, in '95 I drove a red taurus with this song blasting like mad. ahem..live it never sounds as good but hey, it's still VAN HALEN.. note the intro by a much younger Jon Stewart! Here's Van Halen with the 'other blond woman' hehe..



The Rolling Stones - Undercover of the Night , I always liked this song 'though I'm not a big RS fan. Like it happens so often,the songs I do like do not become the big hits.. anyhoo..here it is, very 80s (as in, story but no 'movement'to the beat in the vid);



And speaking of '80s style music videos..here are the Stray Cats with 'Strut'..love that gitarrr..reow!



Earth Wind and Fire's Fantasy.. I really cannot palate the live versions out there so here's nothin much to look at but just listen..it's awesome..I love the windinstruments in this one




Joe Dessin - L'ete Indien ( Indian Summer ) Poor guy died of a heart attack at the age of 41. This probably was filmed in the 70s (looks like it) but his voice was great. Too bad he died so young. To think I'm 44..I better remember to be good and take my lipitor!!
