Ode To Bill O'Reilly - John Cleese

hat tip to Glenda from The Peace Train

I would have the same reaction with far left, ranting/raving types who are too biased for their own good. Bill O'Reilly is not even a journalist but then, Fox is merely a propaganda machine for the conservatives, whether they are in power or not.

"Ode To Bill O'Reilly"

--- by John Cleese

Bill O'Reilly's No Spin Zone,
is rated highly by his own beloved mother,
but ... no other.
Except that Bill, for all his faults,
still has one skill, a skill of sorts.
He can amuse a true dumb ox,
the dullest crayon in the box,
the kind of ox that watches Fox.
And Bill will pander to this group,
with propaganda, right-wing poop,
knee-jerk views and censored news.
Thus Bill O'Reilly earns his crust,
behaving vilely as he must.
He will not shirk from Rupert's work.
He really is a perfect berk.

And here is John Cleese on Sarah Palin, Fox etc.(hat tip to Enigma) A pretty much typical, mature view on this whole poli drama;

  2. I could listen to him all day. The most reassuring thing he said is that we could redeem ourselves in the world's eyes by electing Obama. Here's hoping.....

  3. While I'm waiting for the results I'm going to practice a selection of silly walks.

  5. Ah..so it was Earl! I was going to give him credit but then I saw 'glenda'..well, pass it on pls![s]
I love it when John Cleese mentions how in Europe, all across the political spectrum, left center right and further right, perhaps ONLY 5% would ever vote for Sarah Palin..I also liked how he analyzed what Americans don't like and do like..apparently, intelligence isn't one of those traits..yep..the pervasive American insecurity but then..don't watch dumb ass cable shows/channels like Disney or Fox or anything that prevents you from using your critical faculties.
My neighbour mentioned how her pastor had a sermon on not watching television as that would promote action in the community vs passivity in life.. ain't it the truth?!
blueberry..we're still borrowing Fawlty Towers and my 10 yr old is being inducted into that style of British humour..he loves it!
BE...it's so refreshing when people can be funny and intelligent at the same time isn't it? and yes, redemption is needed but hopefully the action post-election will actually redeem the illegality of war faring and extraordinary rendition, torture, gitmo etc.. actions do speak louder than words..
Susan...seeing that you have crow on your side..those silly walks ought to be quite easy!! [g]
