Vote on the PBS poll; Sarah Palin is unequivically not qualified!

Steve Sack

I received this email from a neighbour down the street;

PBS has an online poll posted asking if Sarah Palin is
qualified. Apparently
the right wing knew about this in advance and are flooding
the voting with
YES votes. The poll will be reported on PBS and picked up
by mainstream
media. It can influence undecided voters in swing states.
Please do two
things -- takes 20 seconds.
1) Click on link and vote yourself. Here's the link:
http://www.pbs.org/now/polls/poll-435.html
2) Then send this to every single Obama-Biden voter you
know, and urge them
to vote and pass it on. The last thing we need is PBS
saying their viewers
think Sarah Palin is qualified

And this is from this lady from Wasilla who apparently has known 'Sarah' all her life:

"Her experience is as mayor of a city with a population of about 5,000 (at the time), and less than 2 years as governor of a state with about 670,000 residents. During her mayoral administration most of the actual work of running this small city was turned over to an administrator. She had been pushed to hire this administrator by party power-brokers after she had gotten herself into some trouble over precipitous firings which had given rise to a recall campaign.

Mike Luckovich

Sarah campaigned in Wasilla as a “fiscal conservative”. During her 6 years as Mayor, she increased general government expenditures by over 33%. During those same 6 years the amount of taxes collected by the City increased by 38%. This was during a period of low inflation (1996-2002). She reduced progressive property taxes and increased a regressive sales tax which taxed even food. The tax cuts that she promoted benefited large corporate property owners way more than they benefited residents.

David Horsey

The huge increases in tax revenues during her mayoral administration weren’t enough to fund everything on her wish list though, borrowed money was needed, too. She inherited a city with zero debt, but left it with indebtedness of over $22 million. What did Mayor Palin encourage the voters to borrow money for? Was it the infrastructure that she said she supported? The sewage treatment plant that the city lacked? or a new library? No. $1m for a park. $15m-plus for construction of a multi-use sports complex which she rushed through to build on a piece of property that the City didn’t even have clear title to, that was still in litigation 7 yrs later–to the delight of the lawyers involved! The sports complex itself is a nice addition to the community but a huge money pit, not the profit-generator she claimed it would be. She also supported bonds for $5.5m for road projects that could have been done in 5-7 yrs without any borrowing."

Read more why Sarah Palin does not have the education and work background to be qualified to be Vice-President..she's definitely qualified as a Rove dog attacker though.

  1. Ok, I voted.

It's dead even, which is pretty frightening.

  2. I voted a couple weeks ago. I tried to vote again just now & there's a message that my first vote has been counted, so I can't vote again. Today it's 49%-49%! Unbelieveable! I'm pretty sure Rush has been urging his dittoheads to swarm PBS.

Seeing Cheney sent into the hosp today for another atrial defib should make it painfully obvious to anyone why the VP is important.

  3. I voted to and saw the same results. Should I do it again using our other computer? It could be my husband's vote so it wouldn't be dishonest.

  4. guys, 49%...both 'camps' must be out full force (or if this poll has been going on for a while, which I didn't know, maybe we're catching up??)..
well, it's just 'another poll'. I do think that most mainstream polls, even the British ones and they are much more critical in their reporting..they all favour Obama..
can the fat lady sing..please??? These last weeks seem so surreal, it's almost as if we've already had an election but it's still going on...
    jeepers..

  5. at first, when I voted, the negative for Palin was ahead (I don't recall, but I think it was about 65% saying that she wasn't qualified). I checked back later & saw that those who think she IS qualified had jumped way ahead (again, not sure, but I think it was something like 75% saying she is qualified). So now it is back at 49-49, so somebody is doing a good job getting the regular non-rightwingers to vote!

But see, this is what I am most afraid of about the election. Unless we turn out in overwhelming numbers, they steal it again. We all need to make calls near election day, especially to the swing states, to get registered dems motivated. You can bet the repuke crowd will be sending limos to get their voters to the polls.

The poll/survey is no longer actually tallying anyone's "votes." I have no idea why PBS is leaving it on line. They admit that it is unscientific and their attempts to keep it to one vote per computer are flawed. They should replace the survey with a page that encourages people to vote in the real election.
