I found out, through a blogger from Cleveland, Enigma (Watergate Summer), that there was another blogger from Austin visiting her site, so I 'went' and met Blueberry on her own blog, Texas Oasis. Then, as I'm browsing and seeing a name recurring in different blogs finding out that she too lives in Austin. Mariamariacuchita. So as I emailed a suggestion to her, I say in passing, you know, I live in South Austin too and I live right around blablabla.. well, she emails me back and says, wait! Are you 'the Ingrid' who lives 3 houses down from me on blablabla street (note, I mentioned the area 'blabla' but not the 'blabla street'!) with the sunflowers in front of her house??
HAHA..she got 'chills' and I was about to sit in the front yard watching the kids play (the kids on our street function like a mini swarm, they go from one area to another which is ok because our street, like the side streets, are cul de sacs)..so I told her, come on over if you'd like to!
As another neighbour had come over to sit and yak (while her kids played with mine, swarming about), 'Maria' came over and how neat was that!! She was so warm and said, I feel like hugging you! She was the new neighbour on the street whom I hadn't met yet and here we were, kinda 'knowing' each other a bit, having a great time visiting!
She is a very interesting, knowledgable person, not just re. her line of work but to think that SHE and this gentleman started up the peace train! Holy Cow, I had seen the 'peace train' on the various' people's blogs (peace train button).. how cool is that! So, this is blogger number 2 that I've met up with, albeit less if not at all planned like with Mash in July.
Who knows, her and I might collaborate on something in the future..we'll see if time and other variables can make that happen..welcome to our street 'Maria'!!
Thank you, Ingrid. Isn't this crazy how all month we only lived 3 doors down from each other??
ReplyDeleteOh, this is gonna be fun.
Everyone, Ingrid is awesome, witty and smart. I can't wait to see how much trouble we can cook up together.
it's a small world in more ways than one. :) two of my favorite bloggers teaming up in the real world too. unstoppable :)
ReplyDeleteWe've got sunflowers in front of the house too. And I believe I am close to Ingrid so we are close too! Wow!
ReplyDeleteOkay Blueberry- you gotta get over there...I tell ya....we got it all going on in Austin :-)
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that ?
AND What Song did I have posted last night Ingrid????
PEACE TRAIN !!!!
So there you go...it was meant to be that you all meet..
((.wow...see I wished I lived there....
I would be pestering you all in a minute:-)
Soooooo Awesome ;-)
Why thank you Maria!! Cookin' somethin' up...hmmm.. I sure like the sound of that! See, 'we' (the other neighbours) saw the 'coexist' bumper sticker on, what ended up being Maria's car so we thought, oh, can't be 'that' bad! Most of the people on our street are Obama supporters..
ReplyDeleteyep, Maria and I..to be continued..[g]
Betmo..thanks for the kind words.. I fade in and out and somehow I needed a war to get riled up and back in the saddle again.. I need a better focus or more consistent focus when most of this has died down.. if it will anyway..
Blueberry..you're next woman! As Maria works from home at certain times, now school will start in a week, I can be more flexible and we can play it by ear re. getting together. I think you will really like meeting Maria, she's awesome and interesting to talk to. When one usually meets women who's focus is only on their kids, trust me, interesting people stand out like a much needed sore thumb..ok..that analogy totally did not work but it's getting late ..lol
enigma..of all people who could make that little party complete.. you never know if in the future we can have a nice blogger round table for real.. food, fun, interesting conversations, solving the worlds' ills.. you name it..
People give me energy and Maria certainly gave me a good shot in the arm today!
Ingrid
There's an award waiting for you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great combo! How lucky are you two? I'm sure the conversation is quite stimulating. Small, small little world.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you. And I hope I can come visit Austin someday and meet you both.
ReplyDeleteSusan, why thank you! But..now I remember (and sorry if I remember now correctly)..did you have that award for me earlier or was that someone else?? Oops!! I'll have to come and check it out, thank you for thinking of me anyway!! (shee..silly me..that was one of the original reasons to spruce the place up anyway..)
ReplyDeleteMary..isn't Austin the happenin' place?? [s] Both Maria and I were, wow..as we were talking, one verbalizing it and one thinking it..this is unreal! Seriously, quite a few people had met her already on the street and little did I know..I had too!!
BE...if you ever do rest assured you'd be welcomed big time and we'd have good food and good company for sure (hmm..maybe have Maria's husband cook for us too, he's apparently le chef extraordinaire!! wink wink)
Ingrid
That is so cool! I am so happy for you guys. What a coincidence. I hope you do eventually collaborate. That is so cool!
ReplyDeleteAustin is a great place for sure! It might be a little TOO happening for me right now (still under the gun) (thankfully not literally though).
ReplyDeleteInteresting post as for me. I'd like to read more about this topic. Thanx for sharing this material.
