Blogger Round Table Update

A little while back, I tried to 'round up' some bloggers from Israel, Lebanon and Gaza, in an attempt to go back to the original purpose of this blog which was to get discussion going between people from different cultures on issues that they'd lend their own perspectives to.
A week or so ago, by suggestion of Jonathan (Intellect or Insanity), someone from an Israeli online news site interviewed me by email, where I put out the request for participation. I received more hits and a few offers for participation (thank you) but naturally, the key ingredients are still missing: bloggers from Lebanon and Gaza. I do have two Israeli participants but naturally, they are not interested in discussing amongst themselves.

I am putting out a request (again) here for referrals and/or suggestions. This is a tough time to approach people and at this point, people might be raw from the intense situations they are in right now. I can wait. But part of me does not want to. I will tell you this; the round table is not only for opening each others' eyes, but to facilitate solutions. It can't get any more populist than this. So let's try again and make the blogosphere work for what 'it' does best: communicate.
direct email:

thanks guys!

Hi Ingrid:

Just so you know, many Lebanese and Palestinian bloggers can be found here:

I'm sure it shouldn't be too hard to convince a few of them to join -if there's one thing bloggers like, it's being asked for their opinion on things!

One thing though - that page lists not only bloggers living in Israel Lebanon and Gaza, but also expats, so check to make sure before inviting anyone.

Good luck!

I was coming here to recomend

But I see someone has already done so. She's a great writer though Ingrid, though I believe she is in the states at the moment and frantic about what's going on back home. If you could get her though that would be such a coup.

Kel, I thought I had put her in my 'favourites' list (since the absence of a blogroll still, ahem)..I am making a seperate list of potential participant bloggers so let me recheck and see if I have her on it. I did email a few people a little while ago, continued 'excuse' (until the end of the month) kids and kids again. I am doing things in between with less focus than I'd liked to. Still, my list is coming along great. I end up checking into people reading their blogs for a bit because I still would like to get a sense of the person.. thanks again for your recommendation though Kel..!!
