He is home now from his 2nd tod in Iraq, suffering from PTSD, which the military psych says is not PTSD but merely "normal combat stress". Excuse me??? I guess that explains his temper fits, insomnia, nightmares when he does sleep, stomach trouble for which he drinks bottles and bottles of antiacid meds, vomits blood, his extreme survivor's guilt syndrome, his constant worried expression when in repose and habit of rubbing his forehead, , etc. etc.

But the army is "working with him". Now they claim they will not send him back to IRAQ for a 3rd tod as previously scheduled; instead, they say they'll send him to Afghanistan in the fall. I'm having a lot of trouble accessing bloggers' comment pages.

I find that people from rural and small towns in Texas seem to be involved in the churches whose pastors preach evangelical and fundamentalist doctrines, and therefore are more inclined to be pro-Bush and believe his lies.

I have the same problem with certain dear members of my own family. They are sincere, devout, practising Christians but are sorely deceived. They can not and will not accept that Bush's wars are about anything but protecting our nation and our freedoms. He's their hero. They consider me to be an apostate and pray earnestly for my soul.

Sigh!Worried Americanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15025693881754554346noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22346965.post-16202046236190477332007-03-26T16:44:00.000-05:002007-03-26T16:44:00.000-05:00I'm not so sure about this. Most of the people who...I'm not so sure about this. Most of the people who support the Bush administration in Texas usually live outside major metropolitan cities. I'm sure most of the soldiers who died also came from smaller cities or rural areas. It's worth checking out.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22346965.post-52396503593478038682007-03-25T22:17:00.000-05:002007-03-25T22:17:00.000-05:00Hi Ingrid I posted a commment over there; I think ...Hi Ingrid
I posted a commment over there; I think even the most patriotic War supporting voter must surely now acknowledge the terrible mistake it was to invade Iraq, whose secretarian violence was always going to erupt to its present day debacle.

Best wisheslindsaylobehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16774918551798647046noreply@blogger.com
