Stream of consciousness

I promised my friend Robbie (Independent Opinions) to talk about Korea. Not that that was a special request, but he felt that in the last week, only partisan attention was given to some of the issues that arose last week, such as Korea. North Korea to be exact. (Did I get that right Robbie?)
Then as I was mulling over in my head what I wanted to say regarding North Korea, myy thoughts jumped from one thing to another. A stream of consciousness. It went like this;
North Korea's missile launch did not upset me at all. I felt it was just another drama on the grand stage of world politics..next! Then, I thought about some of the people who could in the future be affected if the missiles would reach their full potential..(i.e. Robbie from San Diego!), then I remembered how I felt during the cold war living in the Netherlands and as a teenager I felt often unnerved thinking that if a nuclear war would start between the US and Russia, we'd be toast(ed) in our little 'kikker' landje / country! So then I thought how blase I had become since I was literally out of reach for any potential North Korean weaponry. Just wait what I would write if anything happened between China and the US...I'd surely would be covered then! Then..I thought about China's potential for stepping up to the plate of being the main Super power negotiator in this N.Korean situation and how it could lead to a stronger, diplomatic role for the Chinese that could in the future perhaps be a good counter to the US. I thought about the fact that we need more than one Super power, not for the potential of blowing up our planet 1000 times over..but just to counter the arrogance of the one that is the 'power that shall be' right now. And no, I do not think in terms of America bashing, but just a healthy set of boundaries that could lead to certain reprimands shall we say or 'incentives'.
I thought about the Economist article on North Korea this week and then thought of all the books and articles that are waiting for me to turn me into a respectible 'know enough' since I do not. Then, of course, I feel the pressure to write something half way decent and intelligent and think, I don't have time! Until the little wheels in my head spin so fast they phloop out of their joints or thinga me jiggies and I slow down again to think..ah well. Who am I trying to impress anyway. For every season, blah blah blah. It'll come.
At least I have plenty of good blogs to read, and I do enjoy all of them;
Docstrangelove, Robbie's Independent Opinions, Donkeyphant, The Osterley Times,Saudi Jeans,Mahmoud's Den, Is America Burning, Make Some Noise, Pen and Sword, Withinsight, Linday's Lobes, CafeDA, the Existentialist Cowboy Update; did I just forget my friend Zeb? After all that? tssa..Inside Zebster!

what? doesn't she know where the blogroll is supposed to go?? Yes my dears I do..but I am just doing my stream of consciousness thing and figured I'd do a wee bit of a plug...lots to read, lots to comment on, interesting topics this week..and most of all, great passion and opinions. That is what a blog is supposed to be for me.
If I left anyone out..apologies..
so if I lag behind on my posting, chances are, I'm reading and commenting instead.

Good job, Ingrid, I like the stream of consciousness.
Don't worry about us up here in Maine...we're never a target. LOL

Zeb,thx. It was something different. That's the nice thing about having a blog and not getting paid to do it; you can do anything you want. Have you seen the blogathon of the bloggers against torture? If you did not join earlier during the June awareness month, you could still join for the blogathon. Even if it is for one post.
Mash (have you two met btw? Zeb, Mash, Mash, Zeb)..even though you feel that there is a big virtual red dot over DC..I also think that you guys must have the security to match it. Still, I am sure that that is not always a consolation because how can you prepare and defend against terrorism? But..I'll get off that subject...
I can't wait for another great piece of writing. I am curious, as always, what your treatment on N.Korea will be. Did you see the Economists'cover this week? You can see it on the website..it's pretty funny.
And hey, most of the bloggers I check each day have me in their blogroll so no..thank YOU! (cause I had not even noticed it right away that I was added..forgot to thank you earlier!)
Plugging your site I will do anytime. Alrightie, gotta go. my youngest is inconsolable and wants me to lay down with her. Later!

Ingrid! You doll! That was very kind of you and I feel the same way about your blog!

As y'all know, I'm still a bit green at this so I am working out the linking kinks, etc. and trying to figure out my "zazou reads" list. So, still in thecoming soon... stage. (as is avoiding typos, etc.)

Ingrid,

I have looked at the Blogathon but feel the requirement of posting every half hour for 24 hours straight would be beyond me!

Plus, my friends are so mean that I doubt I would raise very much money.

Is there a way that you can simply make a donation?

And are you seriously going to blog for 24 hours non stop?

I'm ready for the Blogathon. I won't be able to donate because I'm very short on cash, especially with the new arrivals in the household.

It's okay. It just means I can donate my time and I'm more than willing to do so.

Zazou, Zeb was so kind to enlighten me on where to put some of the html tags and Lindsay as well (all around the same time) so I hear ya. I am very slowly but surely getting smarter at this. sometimes people are on a roll and it shows so hey, credit where credit's due.
Kel, I committed myself to 4 hours only and I did not get a response back that said, no you have to do it for 24hr straight. So hopefully it's still an acceptable deal.
I don't know of anyone who'd sponsor me either Kel and Robbie. We do not have that much money ourselves (everything's allotted in their little slots that says 'pay me'!) I figured I'd need to find out how to post that blogathon button on here so that anyone can decide to at least donate.
Ann..did I just forget the RocRebel Granny?! (hits herself against her forehead 'duh'!)

zeb..it is quite the involvement isn't it. And yes, check out some of the other sites. I think I still forgot one or two but I am doing posts etc. in between 'things' so ..it's rushed writing (say it ten times fast). Good thing I can type quick.
Cyberotter..did I get your name wrong?? JUST another thing for you to snicker at then huh?? sigh...ding..dong..(I'll get it right when the blogroll finally goes up, no worries)

That's what I thought I remembered. Well, with this long list of bloggers, getting 48 should not be difficult. I'm sure that time differences would be taken into account as well.
